A teenager appears to have been bitten by some type of fish today off Casa Ybel, maybe a baby shark or maybe something else.<\/p>\n

Teenager hospitalized with minor injuries after something bites him<\/a><\/p>\n

Evidently, the injuries are not too serious but he did need hospitalization.<\/p>\n

Any kind of shark attack or bite is very rare on Sanibel and Captiva, but you need to be careful and thoughtful if you are fishing with cut bait from the beach.<\/p>\n

Stay away from swimmers … even better, fish early in the morning or the evening when folks aren’t swimming.<\/p>\n

On a lighter note, Hank has encountered a small shark or two on the boat and gotten a “bit” too close … his own personal version of\u00a0Sharknado<\/a>\u00a0.<\/p>\n

We need to do a better job of keeping Hank away from small sharks when we land them on the boat … and we will.<\/p>\n
